Windows Vista: Compare Editions

Windows Vista: Compare Editions - Comparison of Windows Vista editions. Different laptops come with different Vista version and I'm wondering which one should I take. Most of the software I use is free/Open Source anyway so I don't need anything more than Windows XP offers but I need Vista because XP is going to be outdated sooner or later.
